A saree dress is a traditional garment from the Indian subcontinent, commonly worn by women. It consists of a long strip of unstitched fabric, often decorated with elaborate patterns and designs, ranging from 4.5 to 8 meters in length.

 

The saree is usually wrapped around the waist, with one end draped over the shoulder, baring the midriff.

 

 

 

The saree is worn with fitted bodice commonly called a choli and a petticoat. It is known for its elegance and the sense of femininity it instills in the wearer.

 

Saree dress steps

 

 

Step1:

 

Start by tucking  one end of the saree in the petticoat at your waist.make sure that the lower end of the saree touches the floor.

 

Step 2: Cutting the Fabric:

 
 Transfer these measurements onto the fabric. Ensure to add an extra inch to each measurement for the seams. Start with the back part of the blouse. After cutting the back part, cut the front part of the blouse into two halves. Also, cut out the pieces for sleeves, front and back neck designs.

Step 3:

Leave enough saree at the end to hang down the back from the shoulder.the end piece that is draped over the shoulder is called the pally.

Step 4:Puffed hair: 

 

Puffed hair at the crown area followed by a bun or a braid gives a vintage look and work perfectly with saree.

 

Step 5: braids hairstyle:

Braids are classic and a versatile.They can be simple three-stand braids,fishbone braids,franch braid,or side braid.you can add accessories or flowers to  accentuate your hairstyle.

Step 6:  Design planing : 

 
firstly an artistic and appealing design for the saree is Conceptualized  and sketched .This process often involves looking for inspiration in various pattern ,motifs and colour.

 

step 7:Silk procurement: 

 
The firsht step involves obtaining silk from Silkworms cocoons.The collected cocoons are then boiled in water to loosen the threads.The threads are carefully collected and made into silk threads.

Step 8:Weaving

Weavers skillfully weave the yarns into sarees on traditional handlooms.for elaborate design,a technique know as jacquard weaving is used.

 

Add finishing touches to your hair with accessories like flowers, clips, pins, bands, or a fancy headpiece to compliment your saree.
